Apollo Munich Health Insurance has been witnessing good response to its new cancer-specific plan, iCan, which was launched about a couple of weeks ago.
“We did a soft launch last month with a target of collecting a premium of Rs. 1 crore in the first week after launch. Now, premium collected so far is over Rs. 2.5 crore,” Nadini Ali, Chief Marketing Officer, Apollo Munich Health Insurance, told spokespersons at a press conference.
Every year, more than seven lakh Indians are registered as cancer patients, and the estimated number of Indians living with cancer is around 25 lakh, she said, adding that cancer cover policies were the need of the hour.
