Digit Life Insurance has appointed Venkatesh Naidu as Chief Distribution Officer (CDO), bringing more than 26 years of experience across life and health insurance distribution, channel development, strategic partnerships and business leadership. The appointment comes as Digit Life focuses on expanding insurance access through both physical and digital channels.

Naidu has experience across agency, bancassurance, broking, corporate agency, direct and digital distribution. Before joining Digit Life, he served as Chief Executive Officer of BajajCapital Insurance Broking Limited, where he led the insurance distribution and broking business.

Earlier, he held senior positions at Exide Life Insurance, including Executive Vice President & National Head – Brokers and Corporate Agency. He also worked with ING Life Insurance, Bharti AXA Life Insurance and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance.

In his new role, Naidu will focus on strengthening Digit Life’s distribution capabilities, expanding customer reach and combining digital convenience with human engagement. He has highlighted India’s significant insurance protection gap and the need for organised innovation to improve insurance penetration.

Digit Life said its priorities include taking customer-centric insurance solutions to more people through physical and digital channels, maintaining affordability and simplifying customer processes. The appointment comes as India’s life insurance market continues to develop new distribution models and technology-enabled customer journeys.
