Nagpur is emerging as an important industrial and manufacturing hub, with upcoming investment opportunities across automobiles, steel, solar energy, defence and logistics, according to Manohar Pote, Regional Head, MIDC Nagpur. Speaking at the ET Business Growth Summit, Pote highlighted the potential for local MSMEs to become suppliers and vendors to large industries, strengthening regional supply chains and creating new employment opportunities.

The industrial expansion presents significant opportunities for MSMEs in Vidarbha, but also increases the importance of access to finance, supply-chain resilience, risk management and insurance protection. With the region home to around 1.34 million Udyam-registered MSMEs as of December 2025, stronger integration between large industrial projects and local enterprises could help businesses scale beyond regional markets. For insurers and financial institutions, the expansion could create growing demand for business interruption, property, liability, credit and other risk-protection solutions as the industrial ecosystem develops.
