Topping the list amongst non-bank promoted private life insurers in total new business premium during the first quarter, Reliance Life Insurance Company (RLIC) has clocked a 100 per cent increase in its new business premium for the first quarter this fiscal at Rs 514 crore (Rs 251 crore).
The private life insurer recorded a 48 per cent increase in new business (individual) premium at Rs 287 crore (Rs 181 crore) for the quarter under review.
“We are now amongst the top five private life insurers in the country, and hope to further improve our market share in the coming quarters,” Anup Rau, CEO, Reliance Life Insurance, said.
In April-June 2013, RLIC’s total premium grew 12 per cent to Rs 914 crore (Rs 815 crore).
