Future Generali India Insurance, a joint venture between Future Group – the leading retailer of India and Generali Group – a global insurance group and one of the world’s 50 largest companies*, announced that it launched the Rashtriya Swastha Bima Yojana (RSBY) programme in Amalapur, Bidar District, Karnataka on Sunday, February 16, 2014.

Future Generali became the first company to start the enrolments in the State of Karnataka. Future Generali had secured the tender for one cluster consisting of 6 districts in Karnataka for implementation of the Rashtriya Swastha Bima Yojana. 

The objective of RSBY is to provide cashless hospitalization benefits to BPL families with beneficiaries entitled to hospitalization coverage up to Rs. 30,000. Future Generali has taken various initiatives to ensure maximum enrolment in this government sponsored health insurance scheme.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Shreeraj Deshpande, Head – Health Insurance, Future Generali India Insurance said, “Every citizen in this country should have access to health insuarnce coverage and the government is committed to this cause.

Enrolling people in rural areas is a difficult and complex activity and requires working closely with the government. It is our honour to be associated with this project and it will be our endeavour to cover as many people under this scheme”.
