Aon, is re-entering insurance broking in India with acquisition of 49% stake in Catamaran-owned insurance broker – Anviti Insurance Brokers.

The deal is subject to regulatory approvals. Speaking on the developments, Jonathan Pipe, CEO, Anviti, said – “I am excited to transition Anviti into the Aon world as we continue to help Indian businesses prepare for the new better. We have strong capabilities in India and have established trusted advisory relationships since we started operations in 2017. I look forward to building upon this platform and accelerating results for our clients, colleagues, and communities.” He will continue to head the team.

Anviti is a composite insurance broker delivering insurance and reinsurance broking services to corporate clients in India. The company delivers technology led insurance broking solutions in the commercial insurance broking market and is promoted by Catamaran, the proprietary investment firm of Mr N.R. Narayana Murthy and Mrs Sudha Murty.
