The Global Association of InsurTech Professionals (GAIP) launched its India Chapter at GAIP InsureTek India 2026, held on 29 September 2026 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, in partnership with World Trade Center Mumbai, with GIFT City and the Government of Maharashtra as Strategic Partners.

The gathering drew broad participation from across the insurance and InsurTech ecosystem, including insurers, reinsurers, loss adjusters, insurance brokers, reinsurance brokers, claims settlement agencies, InsurTech companies, IT companies and healthcare providers. Senior industry leaders, regulators, financial services professionals and representatives of ancillary businesses serving the insurance sector also joined the programme, bringing together expertise from across the industry’s value chain.

Delegates attended from India, the UAE and other international markets, giving the conference an international perspective and creating opportunities for dialogue between Indian and global insurance communities.

Held under the theme “Building the Insurance Future: Viksit Bharat 2047,” the conference provided a forum for dialogue on how insurance and technology can support India’s development ambitions. Discussions centred on innovation, industry collaboration and the changing expectations of customers, with a focus on making insurance more accessible and responsive to the needs of individuals and businesses.

The opening programme included a ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Dr. AFTAB Hasan, Founder and Chairman of GAIP, delivered the opening address, while Sir Sohan Roy, Vice Chairman and Board Director of GAIP, shared his message through a video address.

Shri K. Mahipal Reddy, Executive Director of the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), attended the morning programme as Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address. He highlighted GIFT IFSC’s role as a global financial and insurance hub in supporting Viksit Bharat 2047, and the contribution of InsurTech and technology to the sector’s development. His address also outlined opportunities under the TechFin and Ancillary Services framework for technology, analytics, actuarial and other support businesses to serve global clients from GIFT IFSC.

Among the international guests was H.E. Saleh Al Hashimi, Patron and Global Board Member of GAIP, who travelled from the UAE to attend and participated in the high-level CEO panel “The Future of Insurance: Vision 2047,” moderated by Mr. Rohit Boda. A senior insurance professional with extensive leadership experience in the UAE, he has served in chief executive, chairman and vice chairman roles, including leadership service with the Emirates Insurance Federation, and as a Board Member of the Insurance Business Group. His participation brought the experience of the UAE insurance industry to the conference’s leadership dialogue.

Prof. Adrian Kennedy, Chairman of Active Life in India, delivered a leadership address. His participation brought the healthcare, wellness and longevity community into the wider dialogue on the future of insurance.

Keynote addresses, presentations and panel discussions examined artificial intelligence, digital transformation, customer experience, health insurance, automation, data and emerging technologies. The programme brought together perspectives from insurance, reinsurance, InsurTech, healthcare, financial services and the wider business ecosystem.

A milestone of the India Chapter launch was the handover of the interim chairmanship by Dr. Vijay Kalantri, Chairman of World Trade Center Mumbai, to Mr. Rohit Boda, who was formally announced as Chairman of the GAIP India Chapter. Mr. Boda was felicitated with a ceremonial shawl presentation. Dr. Kalantri continues as a Patron on GAIP’s Global Board, while the India Chapter will operate under the strategic oversight of the Global Board.

Exhibitors added a practical dimension to the conference, showcasing their technologies, expertise and services. The exhibition gave delegates opportunities to engage directly with providers and explore solutions supporting insurance operations and customer service.
