A meticulously orchestrated murder plot designed to claim a ₹50 lakh insurance payout has been unraveled by police, revealing a shocking tale of forgery, deception, and greed. What was initially thought to be an accidental death turned out to be a cold-blooded murder when police discovered that the key witness of the marriage and the driver responsible for the fatal accident were the same person.

The Case Begins: A Suspicious Accident

The case started when Puja Yadav tragically died on May 20, 2023, after being run over by a vehicle in Chinhat. Her father-in-law, Ram Milan, immediately filed a case of accidental death, and the police registered it as such. The investigation seemed routine, and a chargesheet was filed. However, the insurance company handling Puja’s life insurance policy grew suspicious of the circumstances surrounding her death and requested further information from the police, opening the door to a more detailed investigation.

Unraveling the Plot: Forgery and Impersonation

The case took a significant turn when police discovered that Kuldeep Singh, one of the main conspirators, was in possession of Puja’s phone and had been impersonating her husband, Abhishek Yadav, in communications with insurance companies to claim the benefits. Further investigation revealed that Kuldeep had registered his phone number and email to control Puja and Abhishek’s bank accounts, enabling him to manage transactions related to the insurance claims.

Kuldeep’s actions raised red flags, especially when the police linked him to another key player in the case—Deepak Verma, the driver responsible for running over Puja. It was revealed that Kuldeep had acted as a witness during the marriage registration of Puja and Abhishek. This crucial detail unraveled the conspiracy, particularly when Kuldeep initially denied knowing Deepak or anything about the marriage.

A Web of Fraudulent Activities

Digging deeper, the police uncovered that Kuldeep Singh had forged important identification documents for Abhishek Yadav, including a tampered Aadhaar card, to facilitate a fraudulent marriage and execute financial schemes in Puja’s name. This included taking out multiple loans using Puja’s identity, including a ₹15 lakh loan for a car and a ₹10 lakh loan for a garment shop named ‘Lux Garments.’

A report from Care Health Insurance raised further suspicions, showing that Kuldeep had falsely presented himself as Puja’s cousin to bypass insurance verifications. It also highlighted that Puja’s husband and father-in-law came from a Below Poverty Line (BPL) family, and neither had any significant insurance policies in their names, further pointing to a carefully crafted scheme to claim Puja’s life insurance.

The Conspiracy Unfolds

Under mounting evidence, Kuldeep Singh confessed to the conspiracy, which involved Ram Milan, Alok Nigam (a legal adviser for insurance claims), and Abhishek Yadav. Together, they lured Puja under the pretense of employment, staged the car accident with the help of driver Abhishek Shukla, and planned to claim the insurance money. They had hoped to execute a flawless plan, but their fraudulent activities and forged documents ultimately led to their downfall.

Arrests and Ongoing Investigation

So far, police have arrested Kuldeep Singh, Deepak Verma, and Alok Nigam. However, they are still searching for Abhishek Yadav, Ram Milan, and the driver, Abhishek Shukla, who remain at large. The investigation continues, with police gathering more evidence to bring all the culprits to justice.
