The Raipur Unit of the Indian Institute of Insurance Surveyors and Loss Assessors (IIISLA) organised an exclusive two-day technical training programme for insurance surveyors on Motor and Engineering insurance on 17-18 January 2026 at Hotel Ariena, Raipur. The programme was designed to strengthen the technical, analytical, and professional capabilities of practising surveyors in view of evolving insurance products, technologies, and claims practices.

The programme was conducted under the leadership and guidance of IIISLA’s senior officials, including Mr. Rishi Pratap Bhasin, President, IIISLA, Mr. Gulab Chand Agrawal, Vice President IIISLA, Mr. Ajay Girdhar, Secretary IIISLA, and Mr. T. Ramesh Babu, Treasurer IIISLA. Their presence reinforced IIISLA’s continued focus on professional development and capacity building for surveyors across regions.

The sessions covered key areas relevant to surveyors, including practical approaches to motor and engineering loss assessment, claims documentation, interpretation of policy conditions, case-based learning from field situations, and strengthening report-writing discipline and consistency.

Surveyors.” Dr. Agarwal discussed the latest developments in the field of Artificial Intelligence in Insurance Industry how AI tools can support surveyors in faster documentation, and improving turnaround time, while emphasising that field judgment, professional ethics, and technical expertise remain central to the surveyor’s role.

The programme was efficiently coordinated and well organised by the office bearers of the IIISLA Raipur Chapter, under the leadership of Shri Amit Kumar Shrivastava, Chairman, Md. Arif Rawani, Secretary, and Shri Chandan Khare, Treasurer, with active support from Mr. Gagan Chopra, Unit Coordinator, and Mr. Piyush Jain, Deputy Coordinator and other members. Their efforts ensured smooth conduct of sessions, disciplined scheduling, and a conducive learning environment throughout the programme.

The training concluded with interactive discussions and feedback, with participants appreciating the programme’s practical orientation, depth of technical coverage, and seamless organisation. IIISLA reiterated its commitment to organising more such focused training programmes to ensure surveyors remain updated, professionally equipped, and aligned with emerging developments in the insurance sector.
