The India InsurTech Association (IIA) successfully hosted its flagship gathering, the 4th IIA Annual Event, themed AI in Insurance, on October 30, 2025, at the Fairmont in Mumbai. The event brought together over 1000 industry leaders for a day focused on deep-dive sessions, workshops, live demos, roundtables, and networking, featuring insights from a distinguished lineup of 70+ speakers from across the insurance ecosystem.

Setting the Stage

The event opened with a Keynote Address by Shri K. Rajaraman, Chairperson, International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), on Regulatory Innovation: Enabling a Future-ready financial services Ecosystem, and a Special Address by Shri Abhishek Singh, CEO of the IndiaAI Mission, on India path forward in AI and India opportunity for leading globally for AI in Insurance.

Key insights emerged from two major report launches:

  • The IIA-BCG Report revealed AI represents an over 300 Crore annual profit opportunity. It also highlighted the industry’s shift from AI pilots to scaling, with only 7% of insurers having implemented AI across their enterprise so far.
  • A Whitepaper by Sahamati, KPMG, and IIA positioned the Account Aggregator framework as a key to inclusion, revealing its potential to insure 33-40 crore underserved Indians, representing Rs. 11 lakh crore premium opportunity.

Demos and Presentation Stage

Throughout the day, a dedicated demo and presentation stage showed 19 presentations that did more than just showcase tech – they showed its human impact. The audience got to look at specialized solutions, including:

  • An AI product modelling tool built specifically for the complexities of the Indian market.
  • The practical application of Agentic AI to transform core insurance processes from claims to servicing.
  • A vision for end-to-end Insurtech designed for compatibility and an AI-first future.
  • A deep dive into the next frontier of underwriting, balancing automation with the essential human touch.
  • The deployment of AI Agents to streamline customer-facing operations like sales, onboarding, and support.

This track provided a concrete look at the technologies making insurance more people-centric.

Roundtables & Workshop Stage

Beyond the main stage, the agenda was packed with practical, deep-dive sessions. Leaders from International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) joined us for a closed-door roundtable on the topic “Unlocking Retail Opportunities in Insurance in IFSC”. We also co-hosted a workshop with National Health Authority (NHA) on the topic “Transforming the Health Insurance ecosystem with NHCX – Towards a standardized and interoperable future”; explored the potential of Open Network For Digital Commerce (ONDC)’s digital infrastructure for insurance, and hosted a powerful workshop focused on increasing women’s participation across the InsurTech sector.

Celebrating Industry Excellence

The day concluded with the India InsurTech Awards ceremony which honoured the achievements of key players, with awards presented to Irin AI Pvt. Ltd., HDFC ERGO General Insurance Co. Ltd., Consint.ai, Risknox.ai, Plutas Analytics Pvt. Ltd., InsurAI, BimaPay Finsure Pvt. Ltd., Data Science Wizards (DSW), and Infinilytics Technologies Pvt Ltd.

The event underscored a collective readiness to move from discussion to execution, marking a significant step forward for India’s insurance sector!
