The Interim Budget was placed on 1st February 2019 in Lok Sabha by the Finance Minister Piyush Goel. The budget focused on benefits to Agriculture Sector, small and marginal workers, Income Tax rebate for income upto 5 lacs for individuals apart from several other lucrative announcements for the lower income group people. The exemption limit under section 80C and tax slabs was untouched.

Risk Management Association of India, an NGO working in the area of Risk Management education and awareness organized its inaugural RMAI Risk Management Summit 2019 on 24th January, 2019 at Hotel Holiday Inn, Mumbai. The theme of the Summit was “Risk Management Challenges in a New Era Way Ahead”. The summit was attended by more than 180 delegates and 25 speakers from the Insurance, Banking and Corporate sector.

The Summit witnessed a wide range of deliberations on various aspects of new age risks, impending challenges, Risk Management Strategies to counter and manage risks effectively. The summit was a grand success. This will mark a new beginning for promotion of Risk Management discipline in India. This summit will be followed by a series of regular training and awareness workshops across major cities in India.

We would also urge all readers to join this risk management movement in India and contribute actively to promote this important area.
