Birla Sun Life Insurance has launched a ‘cancer shield plan’ for protection against any possible risk. “Cancer patients die not because of lack of treatment but due to unaffordable treatment in most cases,” Pankaj Razdan, MD and CEO, told spokespersons at a press conference.
The entry age for the new plan, which comes at a premium of as low as Rs. 450 per annum, is 18-65 years with policy term of minimum five years to maximum 20 years. The sum assured ranges from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh.
The customer is provided 30 per cent of the sum assured on diagnosis of early stage cancer and 100 per cent of sum assured in the case of advanced stage cancer after deducting previously paid claim of early stage cancer, if any.
