RECRUITMENT OF PROFESSIONALS ON CONTRACT/ DEPUTATION BASIS

Insurance Information Bureau of India (IIB) is an independent body promoted by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) to facilitate the efficient functioning of Insurance markets as well as protection of the interests of policy holders by organising data collection, analysis and dissemination of decision supporting information.

 

IIB collects data predominantly from Non Life sector in Lines of Business like Fire, Motor and Health and is also now entrusted with the activities of the Mortality and Morbidity Investigations. The Bureau is endeavouring to emerge as a world class analytics organisation leveraging expertise in Data, Domain and Technology. In order to further its expanse of activities IIB would like to employ on contract / deputation basis:

1. Head, IT:

Qualification:

First Class Graduation in Engineering / Technology / Post Graduation in Computer Science / Application from a reputed university with specialisation in one or more of the following broad disciplines, with consistent academic performance

  • Computer Science and Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Communication Engineering
  • Information Technology

 

Experience:

The candidate should have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the following areas:

  • Communications and Networking
  • Information Security
  • Software Development and Engineering
  •  Database and Systems Management

 

The ideal candidate would have implemented at least 2/3 major projects, shall have good knowledge and practice of IT Architecture, Data Centre Management and ability to define technical needs, standards and next generation technologies.

 

2. Head, Analytics:

Qualification:

Post Graduate with specialisation in one of the following: Statistics, Business Management, Applied Economics or Behavioural Economics. An actuarial qualification will be considered as a definite advantage.

Experience:

The Candidate ideally would possess 8 years of Post-qualification experience and should have a keen proven interest in Research and Analytics (evidenced through good reports / publications). The selected candidate would have experience in the areas related to Strategic Decision making, Business analytics, Macro/ Micro/Behavioural Economics, Model building capability and Data Mining. Knowledge and experience on Big Data will be an advantage.

 

The ideal candidate would possess following attributes:

  • Be a Thought Leader and Team Manager with a passion for analytics.
  •  Be creative and proactive in initiating analytics projects.
  • Able to identify issues and challenges either existing or possible in future for the stakeholders of Insurance Industry – both Life and Non Life.
  • Define the research problems.
  • Identify the appropriate research methodology and the data needs.
  • Suggest employment of appropriate analytical tools.
  • Direct the analytics process efficaciously with Heads of Verticals.
  •  Evolve outcome for such problem statements and have them duly validated.
  • Arrange publication/ dissemination appropriately for effective use by stakeholders.

 

3. Administrative Officer, IT:

Qualification:

First Class Graduation in Engineering / Technology / Post Graduation in Computer Science / Application from a reputed university with specialisation in one or more of the following broad disciplines, with consistent academic performance

  • Computer Science and Engineering
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Communication Engineering
  • Information Technology

 

 

Science Graduates with proven experience would also be considered

 

Experience:

The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the following areas in Organisations/ Institutions of repute

  • Communications and Networking
  • Information Security
  • Software Development and Engineering
  • Database and Systems Management etc
  • Experience in SQL server is a must.

 

 4.  Analyst:

Qualification:

Post Graduation in Statistics/ Applied Maths/ Behavioural Economics/ Econometrics- preferably with an Associate Level Qualification in Insurance. Actuarial qualification even partial certification will be a definitive advantage.

Experience:

The candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in analytics in any large organization or Institute or Industry, should have a proven record of authorial involvement in reports/ publications in areas of Business Analysis, Management Reporting, strategic decision making etc. Those who have prior exposure/ experience in analytics firms like Consultancy firms, Credit Rating agencies etc, will be given sufficient weightage.

 

Other rules & regulations applicable to all positions:

  1. All the above positions are on a contract basis for a period of three years. Subject to outstanding performance, the contract term may be extended for further periods.
  2. An attractive compensation on a CTC basis would be offered to all the selected candidates. Remuneration shall not be a constraint for the right candidate.
  3. All the positions of Head IT, Head Analytics, Administrative Officer IT and Analyst are currently based in Hyderabad.
  4. Candidates can also take up the position of Head, IT while on a Sabbatical from their organisation, subject to their parent organisation issuing a ‘no-objection’ to the candidate to take up the assignment, if selected by IIB.
  5. The position of Head, IT is open on a Deputation basis for the officers working in the Indian Insurance, Banking and Financial Sectors. The Bureau may offer on merit, at the time of joining, one Scale Higher to the Executives up to the level of Scale IV, taken on deputation from Commercial Banks / Insurance with an appropriate increase.  
  6. In the case of outstanding candidates with longer experience in the specific above-mentioned areas, the Bureau may consider relaxing educational qualifications.
  7.  The selected candidates will be working at IIB and can look forward to highly satisfying and rewarding work.
  8. Candidates should have excellent academic record, good communication skills, and a sincere commitment towards implementing the best in technology for the analytics for Insurance sector.
  9. Candidates should satisfy themselves about their eligibility for the post applied for. Mere fulfilment of eligibility does not guarantee shortlisting for Selection Process.
  10. Candidates should not enclose any certificates or copies thereof with the application. The candidature will be considered on the strength of the information declared in the Covering Letter and CV. If at any stage, it is found that any information furnished in the CV / Covering Letter is false / incorrect or if according to the Bureau, the candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria, his candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled /terminated at any point in time. The Bureau reserves the right to ask for any additional information at any time for clarifying on information given in the CV/Covering letter.
  11. All educational qualifications must have been obtained from recognized universities/institutions in India or abroad. If grades are awarded instead of marks, candidates should clearly indicate their numerical equivalent.
  12. Candidates employed in Insurance Companies/Banks/Government/Semi-Government Organisations can apply in advance by email, but should get a no-objection certificate at the time of interview. Candidates applying for consideration on sabbatical also need to get a no-objection certificate at the time of interview.
  13. The Bureau reserves the right to screen and call only such candidates as are found prima-facie suitable for being considered by the Selection Committee. The Bureau also reserves the right to restrict the candidates called for to the selection process to a reasonable number on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed herein and the requirements of the Bureau. Thus, just fulfilling the prescribed conditions would not entitle one to be called for the Selection Process.
  14. The Bureau reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all the posts or fill additional posts advertised depending upon the suitability of available candidates. The Bureau at its discretion may relax the minimum requirements in case of outstanding candidates.
  15. In all matters regarding Eligibility, Compensation, Contract Term, Selection Process, Assessment, prescribing Minimum Qualifying Standards in Selection Process, and Communication of Result, the Bureau’s decision shall be final and binding on the candidates and no correspondence shall be entertained in this regard.
  16. No correspondence will be entertained from candidates regarding postal delays, conduct & result of selection process and reasons for not being called for the selection process.
  17.
