i)   Whereas, M/S. Medicare Insurance TPA Services (I) Pvt. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Medicare TPA’) having its registered office at Flat No. 10, Paul Mansions, 6B Bishop Lefroy Road, Kolkata – 700 020, had been granted Certificate of Registration by the Authority to act as a Third Party Administrator, vide Certificate of Registration no. 12 with effect from 21-03-2017 for the period of three years, in accordance to the ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­provisions of the IRDA (Third Party Administrator – Health Services) Regulation, 2016.

 ii)  The TPA vide letter dated 30th June 2017 had submitted a proposal to the Authority for sale of TPA business of Medicare Insurance TPA Services (I) Pvt. Ltd. to M/s. Medi Assist Insurance TPA Pvt. Ltd., another Third Party Administrator (hereinafter referred as the ‘Medi Assist TPA’). 

 

iii) Medicare TPA and Medi Assist TPA submitted letters dated 11th July 2018 and 05th July 2018 respectively to the Authority, concluding the sale of TPA business with 29th June 2018 as effective date for transfer of business.

 iv) Subsequently, Medicare TPA vide letter dated 28th December 2018 communicated to the Authority that their Board has resolved to surrender TPA license no. 12 dated 21-03-2017 and has submitted original TPA license no. 12 which shall expire on 20-03-2020.

 NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the request made by Medicare TPA about surrender of TPA CoR no. 12, the Authority hereby cancels the Third Party Administrator Certificate of Registration No. 12 granted to M/s. Medicare Insurance TPA Services (I) Pvt. Ltd.

 This has the approval of the Competent Authority.
