On the occasion of Teachers Day on 5th September 2017, Kolkata Insurance Institute organised a symposium on How to strengthen the hands Insurance Institute of India by various activities. The symposium was attended by Mr. A K Acharya, General Manager, National Insurance Company Ltd, Mr. N Banchur, President, Kolkata Insurance Institute, Dr Rakesh Agarwal, Editor, The Insurance Times, Mr. P.C.Sharma, Secretary, Jaipur Insurance Institute, Mr. K N S Sodhi, Secretary, Chandigarh Insurance Institute, Mr. U P Singh, Secretary, Lucknow Insurance Institute and other guests and committee members.
Mr. A K Acharya stressed the need for strengthening the role of Insurance Institutes so that they may expand their activities to create more awareness in Insurance Sector and play a positive role in the growth of the industry. He said that National Insurance is doing many CSR activities in schools and a brief awareness programme may be arranged at school to promote Insurance Education and career opportunities.
Mr. Banchur in his address applauded the role of Insurance Institute of India and stressed upon the need of research and development in the education sector so that students as well as Industry professionals may be benefitted.
Dr Rakesh Agarwal congratulated Mr. Sharma, Mr. Sodhi, Mr. Singh, Mr. Chatterjee for their untiring services in the Education sector for more than 25 years. He said future generations must take lessons from them to take the activities of Institute forward.
Mr. P C Sharma in his address spoke about his journey for last 34 years and dedicated services to the Institute.
Mr. Sodhi made a presentation on the current activities of the Institute and the way forward for strengthening of the Institute.
Mr. U P Singh spoke about the challenges being faced by the Institute in the online era and areas which can be improved upon to have a better connect with students.
Mr. Sanjay Ghosh, Vice President and Mr. Samir Chatterjee, Honorary General Secretary facilitated the guests Mr. Sharma, Mr. Sodhi, Mr. Singh with a memento , sweets and uttarayya and praised their efforts in propagating the cause of the Insurance education.
Mr. Samir Chatterjee was also felicitated on completion of 25 years of dedicated service to the Insurance Industry. Mr. Samir Chatterjee has provided yeoman services to the insurance industry over the past 25 years and has been source of inspiration of Kolkata Insurance Institute. His selfless devotion and role in promoting awareness will always be remembered. We wish that he continues to work with same zeal for years to come.
The Kolkata Insurance Institute ( Formerly Indian Insurance Society ) has earned the Best Institute Award for 7th year in a row which is quite remarkable. The sheer dedication of the whole team of Kolkata Insurance Institute is laudable who work for cause of insurance education even after their office hours.
There was very lively discussion on various issues relating to strengthening the activities of Institute.
